Recó follows the BlueGlass Privacy Policy and our shared principles: we don't sell your data, we collect only what's needed, you only see your own data, our app uses AI to do its job, and we don't keep data longer than we need it. This page describes how those principles apply specifically to Recó.
The short version: By default, recording, transcription, and analysis happen entirely on your iPhone. Premium cloud analysis is optional — when you enable it (we ask first), a recording's audio and transcript are uploaded to our server and our AI providers for richer results; you can turn it off any time. We also collect optional, anonymous diagnostics. We never sell your data, and no account is required.
When you use Recó without enabling Premium cloud analysis, your audio recordings, transcripts, topics, and chats are created and stored only on your device, in the app's sandboxed storage. We do not receive them.
Note: on-device transcription uses Apple's Speech framework. For some languages or devices where on-device recognition isn't available, Apple's Speech framework may send audio to Apple for server-based recognition, governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If you subscribe to Premium and consent to cloud processing, then for recordings you choose to analyze with Premium:
This content is used only to produce your results. Our server deletes the processing task and its results approximately one hour after completion; we do not build a long-term store of your recordings or transcripts on the server. OpenAI and Anthropic process this content as our sub-processors under their API ("no-training") terms. You can disable cloud processing any time in Settings → Process on device only.
When diagnostics are enabled (a toggle in Settings; on by default, with disclosure), Recó sends to our server:
Diagnostics and analytics never include your audio or transcript text. You can turn this off any time in Settings → Send diagnostics.
Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the purchase; we receive an Apple-signed receipt proving your subscription is active. We do not receive your payment details.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, delete, or restrict processing of your data, and to opt out of analytics. In Recó:
Recó is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.
